Bold Thinking
- Solve stubborn problems
- Find the gap in the market
- Considerably reduce costs
- Develop or improve a new product
The Practice for Bold Thinking does not profess to solve your problems. You should not want us to: your innovation is too important to leave to others. You want to keep your advantage in house.
You will have to do the thinking yourself, with the aid of the appropriate thinking techniques. We will help you on your way. We will help you to select the correct thinking techniques and train you to use them.
Practice
The Practice for Bold Thinking was established by G.J. (Gijs) van Beeck Calkoen (MSc) in 2003. The Practice for Bold Thinking helps companies and governments to solve stubborn problems, search for new concepts and products, and focus their organisation on innovation.
Out international network of smart thinkers
If necessary, and in consultation with you, we will call in the assistance of our international network of experts, each one of which is a specialist in a given thinking technique.
Again and again, Gijs is surprised about the power of the systematic application of thinking techniques. It is therefore not surprising that Gijs is the author of “Het Ontwerpen van Innovatief Overheidsbeleid” (The Design of Innovative Government Policy).
This is why he established a Practice for Bold Thinking in 2003 to share his experience with and enthusiasm for creative and productive thinking.
Prior to this he was a colonel in the Dutch Royal Navy. He studied electrical engineering and business administration. He sailed on a range of Dutch Royal Navy frigates and served as a mechanical and electrical engineer on an oceanographic research vessel. He was a management consultant in the Ministry staff in the Hague for the Dutch Royal Navy as well a project manager for a large newbuild project and author of policy documents. At the Netherlands Defence College he was responsible for the business management training of higher officers. His last position was that of research and development manager.
